That Calamitous Serenity

Something’s happened
let the sun shine in,
I saw a desert rose and
I feel that feeling again.

That place where
silence seems softer.
Where rain gives life and
lightening has no light to offer.

Sweet calamity seems
sensible where one can dream.
Of flowers in the desert
fed rain from a steady stream.

A vein cracking the earth
where time sank the sand.
Seeking roots found under
the soil like a reaching hand.
