Versatile Blogger Award

I have been nominated for the Versatile Blogger award. I humbly recieve this nomination with deep gratitude. I would like to thank Dwight at Roth Poetry for nominating me for this award. Click here to visit his site.

I have to admit I started this site with the intention of it being something to share with friends and family. Having a domain is something I think everyone on this earth should have. Whether it be for a news source, to promote an idea, a form of self-expression or for entertainment purposes I encourage anyone who is able to join a community such as this.

I have learned a great deal from many people all over the globe who’s ideas and thoughts help a person gain perspective on a great many things.

I enjoy and appreciate everyone’s comments and likes. It provides me with affirmation for being able to entertain, inform and quite simply write.

I once heard someone say that you can see what kind of person someone is not by what they say but rather by what they write. I have to write because if I don’t I would sail around like a rudderless ship. Adrift and without self actualization is the state I would be in without writing. I am honored by ALL OF YOU who visit here and read my words and hit the like button.

The rules for the Versatile Blogger Award are as follows:

I have to write ten things about myself to Dwight. Which is quite intimidating since he’s an actual published author.

*******************************

1-First off, I studied journalism in college and wanted to start a site doing news articles. Yet I truly put my heart into songs and what I like to write as so-called poetry. I am no poet but I use it as a tool to express my emotions I feel at the time. Editing is not my strong suite.😂

2-My name really is Jared Winchester and I’ve worked at a law firm, bank and various other places depending on my mood or current living status.

3-I’m extremely close to my family who help me more than I deserve. We are close and share everything with each other.

4-I enjoy Game Of Thrones a little too much. I guess you could say I enjoy the creativity and writing aspect of the art of making a television series. I’ve always had a dream of writing my own television series. You know, creating a world of my own to escape the daunting task life can be sometimes.

5-I’ve never been married. Though I did come close once. Coincidentally after a failed attempt at nuptials I met someone who I was even more drawn to. This was over 14 years ago and it’s been over 14 years since I saw her or even talked to her and I still love her more than I ever did my ex-fiance. My ex-fiance cheated on me and left me with great pain that another person I met absolved me of and I will forever be grateful for her.

6-I love making people laugh and working with the public in general. I worked for the Humane Society Of East Tennessee for a while. I love animals and bringing hope for every soul on earth to come together as a society to help edify and build each other up with encouragement and kindness for the little bundles of joy dogs and cats are.

7-My whole family is from Nashville. My grandfather on my dad’s side fought on the USS San Jacinto in the Southern Pacific with George Bush during WWII. While my other grandfather was stationed in Korea during WWII as a military chaplain. Gramps, my mom’s dad, aside from being a military chaplain, was also a High School Principal in Nashville as well as a member of the City Council. Gramps is interesting because he was an amazing fisherman and incredible dog trainer who also raised horses. He could also build anything with his hands. As he did the house that he currently lives in to this very day. I’m proud of them and they have taught me a lot about traditional values of family and duty that I remember to this day.

8-I love traveling to different cities and countries. So far I’ve been to Australia, France, Spain and Italy. I think it is important for people to experience the vastness and beauty of other cultures. You can’t just expect everyone to fit into some box that only you can understand. The world is full of ideas, different religions, art and histories. Understanding these things help diversify a person’s perspective and allows them to appreciate the fact that despite differences we are all bound together in the great pursuit of happiness.

9-I love playing all different kinds of sports. Baseball, football, tennis and golf.

10-Lastly I would like to bring awareness to a cause I hold dear to me. I am an avid supporter of anti-bullying campaigns and it was one of the things I liked bringing attention to in this very blog. I think it is an absolutely devastating fact that children are subjected to cruelty in classrooms, communities and workplaces.

I am a huge fan of those who have been subjected to bullying. Life’s unfair enough as it is without also having someone pick on you, criticize or ridicule you. It breaks my heart to the core when I read and hear stories of children who take their lives as a result of bullying.

Kids and people everywhere should know that it doesn’t matter what other people think of you if it is not constructive and positive. Don’t allow anyone to tell you anything otherwise to get to you. When they do pick on you there is nothing wrong with you. People who bully do so because they themselves have great insecurity about their own lives.

As long as you understand who you are as a person there will always be people out there who will respect that in you. There are people who will appreciate your uniqueness and praise you for it. Anything anyone else who may make fun of you might say doesn’t matter in the larger scope of things. Believe in yourselves and always know that all the hate in the world will pass from you the more you stand as the beautiful unique person you are.
