Rest For Our Souls

The world it does reveal and destroy;

it has certainly changed this boy.

When life conspires to take your joy

flight or fight ways we must employ.

I have stood to fight the good fight

with all my strength, will and might.

My preachers they were not right,

fighting often is not quite so polite.

I have found in the chaos deep in

subsides when I flee to you again.

Beauty I found with you is within,

I do not know where to even begin.

The first time I saw you I was taken.

Your eyes moving over mine did shaken

me to bring forth beautiful creations.

The id buried in my brain was awakened.

Though spite can come in earthly fights,

your eyes lifted me to greater heights.

Where above I receive such great sight.

Your soft words set me into great flight.

Learned I did the world can be cold,

so searched I have for rest for my soul.

Great hymns sung rebuild the destroyed

but more your voice I will always enjoy.

It is what it is, our souls seek others;

congregating, both sisters and brothers,

hear me now, we all need one another.

We need friends, confidants and lovers.

The message of the Holy will serve

but another soul to share we deserve.

For the turmoil that tests our nerve

find softness in clouds we observe.

That lift and share smiles all the way

from birth until we reach our graves.

I’ll let the Lord teach me how behave

but bliss is in warmth we must display.

    We all become the word made flesh and share in it together!

    1. Absolutely. For a person to face this world alone would be agony.
