Call Me By Name

Embers light brilliant skies

and occupy this chaotic mind.

As I lay my head at night

my joy in your eyes ignites.

The swell in the valley,

here counting sheep I talley

the times my heart rallies

down streets passed alleys.

Alleys which have dead ends

is not where our story sends

me to where I should begin

to play songs of gentle winds.

That whisper so sweetly soft

rising above and high aloft

where I escape vices not caught;

my pain is drowned in thought.

That thinks that life should

always be this way if I could

journey through dark woods

to remove my cloak and hood.

That I used to use to wrap tight

around me in the perilous night.

Now I have a reason for my fight

against the bitter winter’s bite.

Call me by name my dear friend

for thoughts of you contain no sin

but rather the state that I’m in

the unmasking of my heart begins.
