From Beneath The Surface

I lament at the core

where there is trouble.

I’m worried this world

re-visits history double.

Wars of words and the

vicious cut-throat asps

break the teachers who

know hystory’s path.

I’m lost in a whirlpool

that sinks and drowns.

Upon reaching the bottom

only desolation is found.

I fight the fight for what

seems to make sense to me

but all is but flailing arms

deep inside the raging sea.

I project myself upwards

swimming for the surface.

All’s not a losing battle now

that we see what hurts us.

Revelation is a ray of light

not everyone sees from below.

Inching through cold black

virtue it can begin to grow.

Wrath inside our humanity

can squeeze us at the collar.

Wrenching the people that at

the surface birth into scholars.
