A Daydream Away

Daydreams they stay

as reality it slips away.

See it now on my face;

war torn has this day.

I play my role as I do

kind eyes I let soothe

me as I now do choose

daydreaming of you.

All else is not real now,

I will let all others down

even if my smile’s found

a place to dance around.

People see my face think

somehow I’m on the brink

and they’re right I do sink

in chasms my eyes blink.

What was that I saw him

drifting away he was in

either a hell of such sin

or wasting away within.

They’re wrong they are not

in my head with thoughts

your beauty has brought

in my world of war taught.

I choose your eyes to see

in other discovered beauty

because your eyes did sing

of endless calming energy.

I miss you everyday that I

relentlessly strive and fight

nature of the world’s night

eased by a daydreams flight.
