Feed The Fire

In the hours of dawn

when light goes down

I scan the night long

in this detested town.

I in safely sanctuaries

pray hard night keeps

drawing out functions

keeping me from sleep.

I see you you creep in

my mind and soak dry

the calm and fire inside

feed my needs to supply.

Crack goes the canvas

that drawn full fades

in the light creeping in

around me these days.

These faces that I see

on a daily basis draw

what I delight obtuse;

cause rub a heart raw.

Delight I do in dances

my brain plays in tune

to remembering you

burning up the room.

Dance with devils no

I’ve had a sharp drag

off a lit stick of trance

that has me now brag.

Of the nuance in flame

that snuffs out reality in

a dance of flesh seeking

other flesh seeking sin.

I hold you in memories

in an arms length in sleep

I wrap my arms in pillows

seeking a body now to keep.

The sting and taste take

me down paths that last.

Find me before my speed

of thought reaches to grasp.

That which comes in lucid

grounded and sober thought

is hard to find in these times

when my sobriety is fought.

I take two before bed to

rest my pretty fair head.

I smoke flames of passion

to see my fire is then fed.
