Look Down At The Devil

I can shift and I change.

I am of the complex sort.

That’ll be misunderstood;

judged in the highest court.

So I cower and contemplate

a fog that arises inside quick;

in the air I feel a change in

a cloud that enters so thick.

I feel eyes as they look up,

giving me a power to own.

What makes me who I am

is what my heart condones.

No time will I give rancor.

No acknowledging poise

for practices of bitter lips

and calamitous bent noise.

I shutter and crawl in holes

at viscosity in anger’s heat.

For sorrow mangles me so

that my ears and anger meet.

Anger does crawl over me;

creeping itching I do detest

any nature of my making that

exudes hate within my chest.

My God has made me simple

and our nature it was made

with the capacity to destroy

and practice as if depraved.

Share with me now brother.

Hear me now my dear sister.

In the image of God made we

seem more as if his resistor.

Bathe in love we must make

this realm over once again.

So look back down my friend

at the devil and not let him in.
