I built your image in
words written down
that served no justice
so I burn them now.
Maybe I’ll learn one
day how I can behave
at the sight mysteries
buried in what you say.
Lost is the cracking
sparks of ember’s flash
I feel the warming light
kissing my face at last.
What could a page of
words serve to provide?
Except for my own self
words I will never hide.
I know the position of
stars where they were
when I first fell in love
with your face’s curves.
I need no monument I
remember everything
from the mystery of you
with reason I tried bring.
I wrote it down to be
a place I would return
where I could retrace
the revelations learned.
I’ve decided to sacrifice,
on an alter of green grass,
the educating lines I’ve
seen in the mirror’s glass.
Brilliant and beautiful! ๐๐

Oh, Jared! This is exquisite. Such a wonderful rhythm and obviously the words are lovely. These lines held my breath
“Except for my own self
words I will never hide.”
Beautiful! ๐
