I caught a glimpse,
after I didn’t look,
so let us go slow to
fill pages our book.
Our book it’s thick
but inanimate like
a solid cold thing;
still I feel delight.
I’ll speak of colors,
to the Lord I’ll see.
I’ll tell of our story
of heart, chemistry.
A quick look quit
with your eyes I’m
not worth it I am
in a state sublime.
Still you sit there,
unabashed trite.
Think I’ll be okay,
but just tonight.
Need excitement?
I’ll be your knight
in armor but that
passes in twilight.
Your too polite and
I think you’re kind.
No need for any of
our times to rewind.
I go alone I’m fine.
I love myself more.
No eyes for me you
bid an adieu I adore.

I think I felt that closeness in the words. Personal poems are always the most evocative. Please keep writing. Glad to be here. Peace and greetings from Sui generis 💛💛
