She passed shortly after this was taken.

Grandmother mine,
sweet touch of God.
Reminiscing you me,
never were at odds.

Dear Father God my
heart it beats off sound.
My countenance low,
I see only the ground.

Sweet grandmother I
one day will see your
mother above clouds
from a love so pure.

(For my waiting Great-Grandmother. May you rest in peace. We will see each other again.)

I had heard about her seeing me shortly before she died. I was rummaging through a box of photos my mother gave me and found this picture.

My mother’s grandmother and my grandmother were renound for their kind hearts, sweet demeanors and gentle spirits. As well as cooking food that would knock your socks off ladies and gentlemen.

I’m proud of them and I can not wait to see my Great-Grandmother West again in the great beyond. I heard a scientist say energy can neither be created nor destroyed. Our universe wastes nothing. It only transforms it.

We are all made of energy. A spirit and soul is the way I was raised to understand it. As I’ve grown older I have doubted there is a God. Honestly, I don’t know if there is one sometimes but only a God could have saved me from some of the situations I’ve been in.

A God or “something.” I get chills thinking about it. The mugging when the robber’s gun got stuck in his pants.

The 75 mph wreck into the back of a semi-trailer truck parked on the shoulder of an off ramp. The one where the engine shot UNDER the cab of my truck…instead of through it. Which would have killed me instantly. No one has been able to explain to me how exactly that happened.

Just two of many more examples I’ll not discuss here. There is something out there in all that black of space that was once never even conceived of. There is, I know it and I will see my precious Great-Grandmother again. I can feel it in my heart, mind and soul.

If you are confused about energy and ponder how I might have ever developed such thoughts, I am including this article. Which is actually a very good and interesting read. As well as quite touching and comforting.

Is it truth? I don’t know. But it is science based. Nevertheless, this is just my opinion. I respect all people’s beliefs and I disregard none. So please do not be insulted or offended.

I agree with you on this! You’re right, energy can neither be created nor destroyed, this is Newton’s Third Law. It’s a law not a theory, so it can’t be argued. Now I don’t know where exactly that energy goes when we die but it does go somewhere, & I fully believe I can still feel my grandma & mothers energy. I feel a connection to my grandfather, a man I’ve only known through stories, maybe it’s possible I can feel his energy too. Anyway, I’m rambling. Sorry, I can talk about this sort of stuff all day.

This was a beautiful tribute to your great grandmother & I too believe you’ll be reunited with her again, one day. ❤
