While I’m alive I
seek to try to heal
my cut hands now
numb I always feel.
Turning black the
surface of me dies.
I amputate a limb
so I might survive.
There is nothing I
can do to enlight.
I display all quarrels;
with my life I fight.
Take your restraints
to someone else go.
So I find a modicum
of my own control.
Not too guarded I’m
not now some fool.
I was caged I was I
desired a rare jewel.
Deep down a person
kept bound my steps.
I remember torture I
a hurt I’ll not forget.
A precious stone an
amethyst restrained
it’s purple color I was
drawn but had a pain.
